When will we drive electrical cars on road?

Electric cars have been on the road for quite a few years now. Unfortunately for us but fortunately for the gas companies, the current batteries don't allow the same performances that the standard petrol driven vehicle can deliver.
I don't think it will be long before this happens though.

Probably when we have too when the oil runs out in about 50 years. Unless some one can produce an electric car thats faster more reliable and fairly cheap compared to a petrol car. The main problem is battery life and the weight of the battery reduce the range that the car can travel betwean charges.

mass production of electric cars will begin as soon as oil companies figure out how to make money from them

the hybrid is a success as you know..
the current electric cars are not feasible as they do not run for long..
they have speeds as low as 80mph..
and their batteries need to be charged for 7 long hours..
currently they are expensive..
but over the years they'll take over.
toyota honda make hybrids that run on battery in town the petrol engine will then charge them up when required.there are small electric ones for sale but are to expensive.abroad electric cars are used.but until the batteries are lighter more range and cheaper it will be a while yet before they catch on
