Honda Shadow, Battery Terminals?
Answers:
Do you tighten them with a screw driver? Bad idea. Use a wrench or socket to tighten them. You can't apply enough torque with a screw driver and they will always come loose.
A wrench will provide enough torque to tighten them permanently. If for some reason they're still giving you problems, use "lock washers".
use a decent bolt and nut, with spring washers. at least 6mm, (10mm head) and clean the contact terminals first tehn put a dab of grease on them. stops them going all white and furry.
failing that either solder some heavy duty wire and new connections onto the battery..or buy a new one.
J.B. weld.
I have a 2001 Honda Shadow 750 and i've replaced the battery twice and have never had the connections come loose. I used the nuts that came with the battery. I have a new set that i'd be willing to send you if you want. Contact me through my avatar and yahoo. You are right about it being a pain to get the tools out and get the seat off to get to it.
Buy a new battery. Even better buy a new bike - one that doesn't have made in Japan on the engine covers.
