Can children put magazines, pencils, sweets and drinks in their hand baggage?

Answers:
Liquids are still banned when flying out of the UK so it's a definite "no" to the drinks. Haven't seen a mention of pencils that I can recall, and if the sweets don't count as gels you should be OK with both of those.

i don't see why not.
not pencils or drinks at the moment as far as i know
Depends on the airline.Ring your airport and ask. The drinks are still banned on most British airlines
They can take magazines, but they can't take any drinks - I'm certain about that. However, when you've gone through all the checks, etc you can buy drinks from shops to take on board. I'm not sure if you take sweets and pencils through, but again, you'll be able to buy them at the shop after all the checks etc, have been made.
drinks are still not permitted when flying "out" of uk. my wife had several sealed readymade babymilks confiscated at luton airport last week! pencils are probably ok but i would takecheap ones incase the security man has his"jobsworth" hat on.
anything that is banned for a grownup is also banned for a kid. Problem is that some people put stuff in kids bags thinking that they won't be checked.
yes
Aside from sweets and drinks, I guess they can.
Magazines are fine, pencils should be ok too, but I'd steer clear of drinks and possibly sweets at the mo. Drinks definitely. They'll be confiscated before you get to the departure lounge. You could buy drinks in the departure lounge, as these have been screened.
they can but be careful my brother had SAFETY scissors taken away and he was only 3! i have been lots of places in Africa and in Europe and i am only 13 yet i know that you should take gum to keep their ears from popping(or crackers). if they have gameboys take them. if they are young take coloring books.
