A couple of ideas-
1. Check that the tire pressures are exactly correct, this will help the handling and perhaps acceleration.
2. Do not drive with the windows open. An open window causes drag and will slow you down, using more fuel for a given speed.
3. Locate the air filter box, take the top off and move the filter round 90 degrees, this will put the dirtiest part away from the exit.
4. Drive to an industrial park on a Saturday when there is nobody there. While the engine is still hot, rev it up fairly high, say two thirds of the maximum revs. Do this a couple of times, it may clear out the exhaust system.
5. Learn to quick-shift. If you can change gear quickly keeping the revs up you will make much better progress. This compensates for lack of engine power quite well.
6. Anticipate the traffic better. On your regular route, count the number of seconds the traffic lights stay on red, probably around 10 seconds. You are then in gear and ready for them.
you can't. you gotta spend a penny!
you cant!
see if u can download a guide to doing a tune-up. or go to the library more than likely they have the manual for it their. what ever u do, do not let a friend fool with it that does not have experience.
about the cheapest thing you can do is to put better quality petrol in it, BP ultimate for example.
The car will never be a road burner tho hun
Don't bother is the short answer.
It's possible to increase airflow with a better / cleaner filter. A solution used to get more airflow is to ldrill oads of holes in the filter housing (NOT in the clean air side). Go to the scrappy & get a spare one though!!
The 'ultimate' fuels won't make any real difference to you car - at least nothing you can notice.
Why bother ?
