Any one got thermostat / temperature guage problems on the latest ford focus 1.8 diesel?

In cold weather the bloody guage is up and down like a politicians trousers

sounds like a problem with the temp sensor on the rad fan /probably loose connection

I have got the same problem with a american 2.0 gas focus so i traded it for a competor car
Are you sure its not over heating? and the fan is cooling it down, if you only do very short journeys that could explain it.
Early focus had faulty thermostat housings that leaked engine coolant. Check your coolant! As its a new car get back to the garage as it should be covered by warenty!
