I have 23 grand to spend on a new car..any ideas?

i was thinking about a Alfa Romeo.
i dont want anything too flash or a BMW.

Answers:
Go for almost any Alfa - you won't beat it! Love the Brera but it might cost you more than 23k,
just get A car
one with bumpin sound system tho !!
spend 15k on the new vw rabbit, save money save gas and low emmisiojs so you can help the enviroment, plus the look cool!
If I were you I would get a porsh or some kind of convertible.
lucky you-i would buy a 350z-awesome
hey, if you don't find that car, send me the money
Saab's are nice.

You strike me as the sort of fella to go for red. Don't. Get a dark blue or black, you'll thank me for it in the end.
well a major tip, dont buy new as soon as u drive out of showroom you do your bollocks in!! try some thing that doesn't depreciate too quick, get the black book or glasses guide a car dealer's bible and look at what the car drops from new to 12-48 months!! believe me am a car dealers daughter!
tell you wot..you give me the money and i can get you a good deal on a merc, trust me im a doctor!!
stay away from anything german. The up keep is outragious. I just spent $500 getting my breaklights and blinkers fix.
I've got a great idea. Split the money and by me a car too
don't get a new car. get a 6 month old one for 5 g and pocket the rest.
you could feed a village in Africa for a year with the money your about to piss up against the wall.
honda prelude
check out the new honda civic type R and save about 6 grand to spend on insurance
why do you have to spend so much money on a car? buy yourself something modest and invest the rest for a rainy day you know it makes sense!
Buy a used Camry and spend the rest of something important.
Dont buy a new one. Buy one 18 months old and spend the balance on a motorbike, jet ski, caravan, boat, holiday,hi-fi etc or more wisely, save or invest it.
Audi A3 they are cool ( i have one at the mo through the company - in red )
Hi there

It's really simple

If you want something cheap, reliable and small and fairly classy go for a Honda Jazz 1.4 Top Spec Sport model - it comes with air con, sporty loking spoliers and bumpers and fog lights etc.. prices start around £12k with options which probs cost around an additonal £2k but it leave you with plenty of change to run it or buy another car

OR

If you want something sporty, classy and can sit five in comfort as well as heritage - go for the VW Golf GTI with DSG Gearbox as it has the fancy automatic function but also manual paddle shift gear change or the R32 with it 4 Wheel drive system
Price start at 19,904 and add £2500 for the DSG Gearbox option which should bring it nicely under £23k

Now if you want something of pure elegance and is similar comparison to Alfa Romeo and BMW then go for Lexus IS in particular the 2.5litre V6 Petrol - it';s silky smooth , very refined and quiet and looks astonishingly beautiful and is gaurantee reliable. Although it is near the top end of the budget with base prices starting around £22,320

or a Volvo S40 with handling derived from the good handling ford focus. Exept with the Volvo it has class, style, saftey and also that floating dash board effect with aluminium trim and you can get a to petrol sporting model (2.5 T5 SPORT for around £22,547) - it's classy, understated , and not very flashy.

You could also get any car from the merc range i.e the A Class - B class and C Class Sport Coupe or even an mid range C Class - but like you stated earlier on you don't want anything too flashy and this rules out the mercs.

At the end of the day it's your choice and I hope you all the best in getting your perfect car!
Audi A6. You know it makes sense.
a 3 wheeler not to flashy n costs less than 23 grand
IT ALL MATTERS WHAT YOU WANT, LOOK ON THE INTERNET, AND IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE A NEW CAR, IT CAN BE USED, LOOK ON cars.com, vehix.com, or go to a dealership.
How about a used Audi A8? Say two years old, might just squeeze in under £23k.
A lexus 250.much better than the 3 series bmw and loaded.
Shut up Tommy boy!
