If a car, say a Ford, costs £15000 from a dealer, how much does it actually cost to make?
Answers:
It depends entirely how you look at the question.
Ford are currently losing money so you could argue that it costs them more than they sell it for.
If you stripped the car for parts you could probably value it at 3 times the amount.
In terms of raw materials its probably no more that £1000.
In terms of cost to the dealer, it's about break even. - they rely on volume bonuses, HP commission and extended warranties to generate profit ( and ripping you off on your PX!)
£2.67
a four door family saloon, costs around 4 thousand pounds to make. Save money, go to new car auctions, your care would have cost you 10,000 or less, buy a three year warranty and you win. Try BCA for a bargain, but take a real good look at every corner, make sure it has not been repaired. Take a body man with you, the money you save means you can pay him well.
9,000
less than half
Well not as much as you buy it from the dealer, why are you thinking of building your own..lol
Agood gues would be around 2000
