And thats all!!
p.s if you ant to have more fun. try 'hard-tailing' it with some lenghs of steel to replace the shocks on the back
Take off the number plate
ask ur bike shop
you don't.don't even try
put it in a field
stick some nobblys on it
Don't bother unless its got the off road suspension already,,
Save your money and buy a dual purpose bike.
Change the sprockets front and back.
Change your dampers, and forks,
Put some off road tyres on. and a little prayer
drive it off road instead of on the road???
Go around a corner far too fast, crash through a fence into a field. You now have an off road bike!
Take it off the road.
Used to be easy back in 1968 Honda had road bike scrambler and sort of dirt bike. Difference between a 90cc street bike low exhaust pipe and scrambler was combo tires street mud and mid height exhaust pipe with heat shield. And the dirt bike had knobby tires,High exhaust with shield lower gear sprocket high front fender and short rear fender and all the above had head light and tail brake light. Then in 1970 European style motocross took off, Bull taco, Hodaka, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Maco, Penton,Zundap and others started to make motorcycles with out any lights highly tuned engines that could make the bike wheelie for miles climb over rocks as big as cars and jump of 8 foot cliffs and had the suspension travel to soak up the crash that would happen if you took a similar size street bike and jump off a 8 foot cliff. Besides stripping the bike of all its street gear new swing arm in the rear longer travel rear shocks new off road ft shock tubes brakes that can eat dirt for lunch and still stop. different seating position over the motor and new handle bars dirt bikes grips don't sweep back as much. You would end up with a not so good dirt bike. Just go to your KTM dealer and get the real thing
save the money and buy a dual sport ( on and off road) you can get a used one cheap
Its not worth your time, but if you insist ,all you can do is put dirt tires and handlebars on it . now you can putt putt offroad
Drive it off the asphalt into the dirt
You can accomplish everything motorrobin said and more just by letting your friend borrow the bike for the weekend.
Easy! replace the tires with knobbys, increase the suspension approximently 300% front and rear, and magically move your center of gravity 8 to 12 inches to the rear. All this and eliminate 3/4 of your unsprung weight, because really, who wants to be 20 feet in the air on a 400 pound street bike?
I did once have an old crashed Honda Interceptor 500 that we put knobbys with sheet metal screws through 'em, filled with flatproof, on so we could ride it on lake Minnetonka many winters ago. It was a blast, but could not keep up with my neighbor's Yamaha YZ125 once we were off the ice and back on the trail.
It was just too hard to get that heavy front end over even the smallest obstacles. The YZ could pop that front wheel right up and ride over almost anything while i'd be hung up on anything taller than 6-8 inches.
