Has any1 had any promlems with the hand brake on thevauxhall vectra?
Answers:
There is one common fault with Opel handbrakes, sorry Vauxhall i am Irish. There is one main cable going from the handbrake to the back axle, this cable is then joined to the other rear hub via a coupling joint. This metal joiner is fairly exposed to the weathers so it has probably rusted and failed. It is usually a simple fix if you have the car on a ramp. It should not be too expensive either. Pop to your local garage and get a quote if this is your problem. You can probably see it if you jack up the car on the passenger side rear.
no cant say i have, just the windscreen wipers and the cam shaft!
no, mine is fine
No I have to admit, the Vectra I once drove (briefly) had a very nice handbrake that worked fine.. Everything else on the car however is another story..
what year is it ive never had a problem with them
Its a known fault with Vectra cables snapping and auto adjusters on rear brakes not working. I work at a Main Vauxhall dealership.
