What is the best jap or USA ? (motorcycles)?
Answers:
Harleys are essentially penile extensions for guys who need that kind of help. The average Harley rider I see every day weighs more than his bike. The only kind American-made bike you can buy is an overweight, bling-encrusted Harley or Harley clone that appeals to exactly one demographic. Japan offers every kind of bike you can imagine. And the quality is better than Amercan.
Italian or German
Go for a Moto Guzzi or a BMW
Harley Davidson is still king of the road.
If it ain't a HARLEY or an Indian, it ain't s**t.
British
I would go with a bmw unless you like your harley leaking all over and that jap bike to break down after 5000 miles
I just KNOW you are going to get americans spouting their brainwashed drivel about harley. Harley's marketing have cleverly linked the concept of "being american" with harley ownership. It's all about freedom, yeah? Oh yeah- just like coca cola, levi jeans and all those other "defining" products.
Hey dude everyone knows Italian bikes are the most desirable?
For problem free cruising it's Honda by light years. If you think you need an image and for the "wow!" factor, it's Harley..for performance it's BMW and some other Euro bikes.
Used to own a Yamaha TDM950 special edition..bronze, silver & gold (girlie colours obv. !!). Miss it very much.must replace soon. so i guess i've gotta say "YAMs RULE!!" but HARLEYS are good too.not as comfortable 'tho!
Buy one that makes you feel good every time you look at it.
On the practical side, do a bit of research and opinion gathering on the one you pick out to make pretty sure it's not a turkey before you actually lay your money down.
What does it really matter if I or anybody else likes it?
i own 3 harleys, 1 old 1960 2 2003 road king classic and a 2006 night train. any one of these will last a life time and still be worth as much as you paid for it new. anything else is a foolish investment. on top of that friends don't let friends ride anything but harley davidsons. Made in america in UNION SHOPS WITH I.A.M. MEMBERS INSURING YOU GET QUALITY PRODUCTS. Made to last.
1956 panhead.
If you want something more "relaxed" then go the cool way and get a trike - there's a company that will do a very pro job on a Goldwing (CCS Engineering, Bristol) - you provide the Goldie and they give you back the trike after you part with (£5k?) the readies.
If you must go US then at least go for an Indian - Harleys are so w*nk - underpowered, poorly built and over here.
But face it, cruisers are built for US highways - long straights, well-surfaced and plenty of room (for the most part). Jap bikes are designed for European Roads, twisty, wet and bumpy. You must resist, RESIST!
Honda
Goldwing is the Best..
japanese for boy racers, USA for old plodders
I've got great service out of Hondas. I currently ride a Valkyrie , Missus has a Magna and we also own a VLX.
The new Wing is supposed to be the last word in luxury touring. Its made in Marysville, OH by American hands.
ive owned both and made choppers out of both,go with what you like. your the one who has to ride it so figure out what you like and get in da wind!
stay with the jap stuff, at least you know it will do what its meant to.
the honda fireblade rocks.
even sonny barger said the big V ain't as good as the legend about it. bin both, get a triumph
Motorcycles? Maybe, maybe not.
Many people who are "getting on a bit" have gone to the larger scooters. Honda has the Reflex and Helix 250cc and the Silverwing 600cc. Suzuki has the Burgmans 400 and 650cc, and Yamaha has the Morphus 250cc and Majesty 400cc. They are automatics and easy to ride.
harleys are so overpriced you'd have to be a chump to buy one
I have to say after all the years of actually wanting to ride a Harley, when I actually did I was disappointed. Still haven't had a ride on my "dream-machine" yet, ohh well I live in hope. I prefer Euro and Jap bikes over the clunky american ones
I'm just a beginner and you should probably ignore my answer, but I just bought a Yam 650 V-star (I know, little bike, but I'm a little guy.hehe), anyway, it's a comfortable bike. I love the way it feels when it rolls up and down bumps and stuff.I can feel the shocks working. Never rode a Harley, the B**** bikes were all I could ride.lol
Check out what is selling in Japan.
