I own a 125cc pit bike it is kickstarted not electric so there is not a lot of power sources to tap into?

CUT THE RED WIRE!
make sure you got 12 volt bulbs your running of the magneto
Stop whatever it is you are doing right now! Go get a small motorcycle batter and either buy or make a mounting kit for the sub frame if you need a light that bad. You are going to either fry that cdi box or ruin that motor if you persist. Either get a self sustaining light or don't ride in the dark.
don't forget to put the peddles and training wheels on as well.
if you look through the pages of Denis kirk you will find a voltage regulator $25 buy it and hook it into the wire that supplies power ground the other to the frame and the third wire goes to the bulb i have done this to 3 different bikes works very well and i have never had a problem with burning things up
A voltage regulator between the staor and bulb will save the light. But the alternator is not designed to run a light. It could rob you of power to spark and/or shorten life of CDI and/or stator. I did the same thing on a 79 Yamaha without a problem
check to see if your bike has a rectifier on it(four pin device with fins on).. ON a honda based engine Yellow and white got into a rectifier .. you want to tap into the other two. red and green. That should have 12volts.
You might need some sort of regulator, im not sure
