It sounds like it may turn out out to be a winter project - hear it running before you buy and pay as little as possible for it - a replacement system from M&P will be upwards of approx £300 just for the down pipes and if the bike has been standing for that length of time, a full engine rebuild will be needed - a long and complex job and sourcing replacement parts for a 25 year old bike will be problematic and expensive.

Think long and hard before committing - for a few hundred pound more "up front", you may be able to source a much better alternative that won't require heaps of work and money spent on it to make it roadworthy!

Good luck.
