I got a 50 pounds ticket today, and I think the ticket person is wrong, what should I do?
I've got a parking resident permit, it says permit holders or pay at meter, for 1 hour, but my zone covers the road for it to be park for how long it should be, why give me a ticket, I even came to the person, and said remove it, but they said oh we already put it the ticket ,so you have to pay now, but Im a resident, I think they so wrong , what should I do
Answers:
You can apply to the council (or whoever issues the tickets) It should say somewhere on the ticket who you need to contact to for disputes. Make sure you have photographic evidence of the parking bays and signs and your residents permit.
Good luck, not enough people dispute them, they just pay up and shut up which is why the councils / wardens get away with putting so many tickets on vehicles!
Move to Wales.
I think theres an appeal procedure to ALL kinds of prosecution . Maybe the ticket has details of where and how to appeal . Failing this ask the Traffic warden how to appeal.
If you have a valid residential parking permit, and was parked in a residential parking bay, then you need to appeal against the fine.
i agree move to Gods land Wales where traffic wardens are banned
appeal to the local authority adjudicator and let it go to court if necessary.
there are some on-line groups who will answer any questions, just google parking tickets or something similar.
You can refuse to pay the ticket and go to court and tell the judge what has happened.
Only downside to that is if the judge rules in the favour of the council.
Another way to do it is contact your local councillor or MP and see what they say about it.
I would also contact the council where you live and explain what happened. They might say you are correct and tell you not to pay.
I hope you manage to get it sorted out.
If you are sure that your permit entitles you to park there, photocopy the ticket and send it to the address given with a letter explaining why you believe you can park there. Send it by recorded delivery.
It would be sensible to enclose details of your permit (a photocopy if possible).
If what you say is correct, it is yet another example of the idiot policies of this country where it is clearly acceptable to fleece the public for as much money as possible, regardless of the injustice.
That happened to me, I wrote a letter to the council and they 'let me off' the fine. If that doesn't work take them to court- you have rights.
good luck, I think you have a case. Fight the ticket.
This is disgusting. What is the point of anyone having a residents' permit is they are going to get fined. If your permit was on your windscreen then why didn't the damned warden see it ?Somewhere on the parking ticket there will be an address of where and who issued it so you should go to the office and take with you the permit and the ticket and explain your case. If all else fails you could go to court and fight your case there. This seems like another example of the law abiding citizen getting the rough end of the stick. Good luck.
write to them and repudiate.
Wow, that's "Heavy!" You should move to America,
Our tickets are less than a pound.
i had the same thing happen to me the best thing to do is to buy a gun for fifty quid then go and shoot the trafficwaden it will cost the same as the ticket but much more enjoyable plus we all benefit there will be 1 less traffic warden to haunt us
All you've got to do is to appeal. You're quite good at that normally, so you should have no trouble. How's the lorry driving lessons going?
Appeal to the local council.
Appeal procedure probably given on ticket.
Report the conversation you had with the Warden - push for an apology from him.
look on the ticket there is either a number, or a website address on it, i cant remember which, contact them, they will ask U to send proof that U have a permit, a colour scan of the permit should be good enough. they will then cancel the ticket.
a friend had the same thing happen and it worked for them.
if the ticket was on display in the window of the car then its the wardens fault, a lot of them do that pictures of the car now, to prove whether or not it was displayed
i hope this helps
If your residents parking permit was displayed at the time the ticket was issued, you have grounds to appeal the ticket.
Check out the National Parking Adjudication Service website at http://www.parking-appeals.gov.uk/welcom.
especially http://www.parking-appeals.gov.uk/iverec.
You should have attacked them screaming like a mad person. To late now you will have to just explain it, there should be a number on the back.
Sorry - but this is just one of the hazards of life in Tony Bliars New McLabour Britain!
Report it if you dont have to pay the fine
Run for the hills.
