My 1995 vauxhall calibra starts +cuts out straight away?

Sounds like the fuel isn't pumping in - is this because the key/chip is not present? Is the fuel-pump fuse ok, wiriing ok?
i cant believe youve just spent loads on the air mass meter without knowing whats really wrong.theres loads of things that could be wrong.could be the coil or anything.could be a part thats like a fiver or could be hundreds.get it checked properly.best way is send your gf to a garage and pretend shes interested in getting it fixed.let them diagnose it and then say she cant afford it but pretend to book it in for later.then drive off and smile
In GM terminology it is a VAS key the resistor is read with a relay deep in the dash relay says the resistor is OK and lets the ECM turn on. Right now it starts up and runs until you try to drive. Go to vauxall with the key you have, proof of ownership and the Vin # should be able to cut A new Key. I own a Holden Manaro, Pontiac GTO in the USA The Key is very special.
the problem you are having sounds like a faulty crankshaft angle sensor. It is located on the block near front pulley on exhaust side. This is a common problem with vauxhall's.At 1995 the key should not have immobiliser chip.
If you take it to a vauxhall dealer they can plug it into a computer that will tell you what's wrong. It will cost about £70. There are many reasons why your car is doing this so best to get them to diagnose the fault and get an independent (and cheaper) garage to fix it.
Buy a new car
