The Vectra air filter is held on with 4 spring clips use a screwdriver to prise them off Its a easy job there are no screws Regards Mike
unclip 4 metal clips lift away casing, can be fiddly, you might need to lift on an angle.remove any leaves etc.replace and rebuild, five mins.easy peasy.
As per some of the other answers here, there are 4 clips on the airbox that hold the top on. The airbox is easy enough to identify on the Vectra as it's generally the large black box at the front left hand side of the engine above the driver side headlamp (just in case you didn't know).
What they've not mentioned though is that this job is 10 times easier when you also disconnect the pipe from the airbox to the engine (at the airbox side). This makes taking the lid off completely much easier, thus minimising the risk of damage to your new filter. Make sure, however, that you don't disconnect the sensors that are attached as these measure your air intake pressure and temp which would cause an ECU error.
The clips are fiddly, but finger strength should be enough. If you use a screwdriver, you'll probably damage another bit of the engine as the clip slips!
Also remember, once you've taken to old filter out, to run a damp cloth (damp, def not wet) round the inside of the box just to clean it properly. Then put your new filter in, re-attach lid using clips, re-attached air intake pipe.
