How do I choose a driving instructor?

I'm learning in the UK. I've been with one of the better known driving schools and seem to get caught out on some trivial detail every time I take a test.

Answers:
i had the same problem, at first, i took some cra.p private one and she never used to turn up and she was so imcompetent and now i signed up for a school, havent started yet.idk but it really depends on the school because they should teach u the necessary things b4 ur test, are u sure u are ready? maybe ur instructor isnt that experienced, i always prefer to take it with someone who is well experienced and has a good pass rate :)

ps. make sure u know ur theory well and put that into practice as well as the highway code cz u wont survive on the road if u havent got that knowledge
look up in the yellow pages they give goods ones
ask your friend who they learned with or go through yellow pages and call and ask instructors there pass rate
Yes, go to the phone book yellow pages and go to transportation call them Ask for a instructor and ask for a recommendations.
They test you on your knowledge of the road rules while you drive. This way they know you really know the answers. Some driving instructors are straight to the rules! They want to give you trivia on everything from what shape a stop sign is to what year the booklet was written in.
The way I chose my instructor was to ask my friends who they had asking questions for example; what they thought of the lessons, whether they learnt a lot from that person and what there success rate for passing was. I ended up getting an instructor that took a year for lessons but I was guaranteed a pass at the end. Good luck
All driving instructors are on the con they don't tell you every thing because they what you to fail so you'll go back to them time after time again. Lern the bascis throug a family friend or relitive drive them everywhere untill you are very conferdent on the road. Then go on a weeks crash(parden the bun) cource they are more expencive but the instructor knows that they cant bleed any more from you. I didn't pass untill I did this
yellow pages or a ask someone whos got them to recomend
They all seem to have at least one bad instrutor
Not all of the driving schools actually use qualified instructors - some instructors have no proper training. So make sure you're with a qualified teacher. There's heaps of free mock tests online so if you're getting caught out by the questions then you should spend some time practising with online tests.
Look for the ugliest bastard you can find.he'll be that busy trying to get you to look at him you'll pass first time before he realises
ask a Friend who has just past their test
go for the cheapest one for the experiance but take the test with BSM or AA.

by firing squad
best 2 go word of mouth from ppl who pasted
well your not on your own there mate everyone get picked up on the trivial things and gets a failure sheet,so dont feel hard done by and retake until u dont get picked up on the petty things.
when you phone them ask what thier pass rate is .thats what i did
GO TO THE CLOSEST PUB ABD FIND THE MOST DRUNKEN VICTIM THERE JUST MAKE SURE YOU DRIVE> IF HE OR SHE PUKES YOU FAIL>
Usually by the lenghth of her skirt!!
