Yamaha Aerox, just put new barrel, piston & variator, now it wont accelerate, but top speed is better.?

I didnt change the cc its still 100. I do have good knowledge and it starts and runs OK, its just that the accelleration is not as snappy as it was. Its also stalling on tick over, not a problem for me, but just might give you some more clues.

Answers:
It sounds like you're getting longer gearing through the variator. That would explain stalling and poorer acceleration as well as higher top speed. It's a bit like putting bigger wheels on your scooter, or starting your car in second gear (you get higher top speed than in 1st gear).
Did you put an OEM variator or fit a different one?
I'll go with Marc's answer. Is it the original model variator or an after market thing that claims to give more power? The new weights or springs might be to strong for your Yamaha. Or it just might be a little stuck at it's idle position and needs a lot of revs to get it to move. Remove the cover and check if it moves freely from it's resting position. Put the original one back on, does it take less force to move?
