We at present recive grants from County, Borough Councils and PCT, over the past two years and next year these grants have not incresed and have not , and will not be inflation proufed, resulting in a cash shortfall of 30%. This service last year provided over 17,000 passenger journeys. can any one advise use where we can apply for posable help with funding. WE HAVE PROVIDED THIS MUCH RELYED UPON VOLUNTRY SERVICE FOR OVER 12 YEARS, AND THE FUTURE IS NOT LOOKING GOOD.

The Foundation Center has a directory that costs $75
titled Grants for the Physically & Mentally Disabled. That would be a good starting place to find the money needed for your transportation service.
Click on "Shop" on their webpage to see the link for funding directories.
whjy not do charity runs sponsorship etc from big companys they will pay you to either advertise visionally or use their products or last resort charge a small fee ot ask for donations from the people you transport. if it is a good and needy service if they can afford to they wont mind just think £1 membership a year or some thing minimal
Why not apply for a national lottery grant, or help the aged. there are a number of charitable organisations that help other charities too that may be lnked in some way.
Yes a National Lottery Grant is definitely the way to go. Lottery Grants are awarded by a number of different distributors. The one that is probably most suitable for your project is called 'Awards For All (England)'. They give grants to any community groups and the grants range between £300 and £10,000 with an average amount of £3900. Applications take 8 weeks to process. Call 08450 600 20 40 for more information.

If you're looking for more money than that (which you may well be actually) then perhaps anopther grant distributor would be better. Try having a look at www.lotteryfunding.org.uk too see who else might be able to help.

Good Luck!
