I have got a honda cb 200 i need 2 no how 2 time it?
Answers:
1. set your points gap (2 sets).
2. look through the little window in your stator plate, you will see a pointer.
3. Rotate the engine until a timing mark on the crank marked 1 lines up with the pointer.
4. Put a test light between your live point side and earth.
5. Loosen the 2 or 3 screws which clamp the stator plate down and move the plate clockwise until the light just lights up.
6. move the plate anti clockwise until the light just goes out.
7. Tighten the stator plate screws.
8. Check that the punch mark on the stator is somewhere close to the punch mark on your crankcase, if not you got big problems.
9. Rotate the engine until a timing mark with a number 2 lines up with the pointer in the window.
10. fit your test lamp across the second set of points.
11. Adjust the points gap until the light lights up dimly.
12. Tighten the adjustment screw.
You just set the static ignition timing on your bike.
with a watch?
well i am no expert but i suggest if you have a start and finish line! Get someone to start a stopwatch when you cross the start line and then stop the damn thing when you cross the finish line! Therefore you would have a time for travelling a certain distance! As i said i am no expert but that would be how i would go about it. haha
do u mean timing the engine or the speed
if you must, use a strobe light, at night so you can see it. But as it is a high-revving 4-stroke I suggest you get a professional to do it.
hook a gun to plug #1 and aim it at the balancer on the crank
