How fast on uk moter way ?
Answers:
the speed limit on roads is the maximum speed you can drive ie a motorway is 70 mph that does not mean you have to drive at that speed my advice slow down before you kill yourself or worse some one else speed limits are there for a reason and yes it is stupidity that a car can travel at speeds in excess of 150 or even 200mph cars like these should be only allowed on a race track and used by people that know how to control them.
move to germany, autobahn baby.
70
Germany have more relaxed limits and some roads i belive have no limit!
Sounds like u got a nice car.
Wasted in this poxy country though you can't even ride your bike without the risk of a speed ticket these days.
I heard Germany is best for open fast roads. Enjoy!!
No where on a public road in the uk. you can try a race day event but buy some special racing tyres! if you want the thrill of going fast on public roads, try the german autobahns but be warned the german ploice are starting to crack down on highly excesive speeding
a pathetic 70
70 MPH
well they say 70Miles per hour but some have restrictions on due to road works and safety measures ! put your foot down you should be able to outrun the cops on the ground but not the bird in the air your nicked then good luck
Because our road maintenance is totally crap - if you drive really fast on some of our roads be ready to spin off and crash. That's what my friend did. There are potholes everywhere, and the road surfaces are generally in poor condition across much of the UK.
The Autobahn in Europe can cope with much higher speeds as it's a much better maintained road, and better quality road surface than any in the UK.
If you want to speed in this country try a race track. Better that than wiping yourself or someone else out when you crash.
to drive to a top speed without breaking the law you would either have to book time on a private race track or go to Germany and use the Autobahn (presuming they still have no speed limit).
The law for 70 mph is a safety thing - enough people die on the roads already, I don't think we need to up it just for the speed freaks! (although, my little 1litre phut-phut car still manages 90mph on the m'way each w/e - tee hee, I'm such a lawbreaker!)
A race track
This is where you need to be:

Alternatively, you could modify the wheels to fit on a high-speed rail track and use the railway system.
Many of the Autobahns in Germany have no speed limit.
You can drive at any speed on the German autobahns. The UK's motorway limit is currently set to 70mph.
By the way, your spelling and grammar is dreadful, how did you even pass your driving test?
You are only allowed to do 70 in the UK, if you go over that and caught (even 1 mile an hour faster) going over that you will get a ticket.
Go over to Germany, and spend a day going round the Neurberg (I think I spelt that right) Ring, where they hold the German F1 Grand Prix. For a fee you go as fast as you like, and I think as meny goes as you like in the day.
People who can't spell motor or getting should not be allowed on the road to drive in any vehicle, far less at 140 mph.
Take the bus, please!
70 mph established as a safe speed. Not surprising when you see some idiots doing over 100mph in wet and misty conditions.
Understand that the Isle of Man does not have such restrictions.
Don't think UK is a poxy country by the way and who said it was can always move out, feel free.!!
Only 142mph?? that was my own XJ8 sports auto that just passed you !!
if you go to the isle of man which is techically part of the uk where you see the national speed limit signs you can actually drive as fast as you can legally. there national speed limit is as fast as you dare. the road from ramsay after the tight hairpain bend is when you are just heading up the mountain i reckon you have about 13 miles of road where you can get your foot down, but watch out for the tram crossing at the museum at the top of the mountain.fastest i got here was a measly 137mph but i only had my zr7 at the time i know of guys topping 190mph here
I believe Germany is the only place on their Autobahhns, although if the german police believe you are racing you can stll recieve a ticket
Because the speed limits laws in the UK were created in the 1960's when car technology wasn't as good as it is today, and Harold Wilson's Labour government was in charge - apparently the Minister who set the speed limits was a woman who didn't have a driving license and rode a bicycle.
