Nob heads on mopeds?

I live near a road junction. Can anyone tell me why lads on mopeds rev the engine constantly whilst waiting for the lights to change?

Answers:
they have to rev thier engines , as they are in fear that someone will run them over, so they need a quick getaway.
Thier should be an open season for teen rev n go riders.

I personally cant stand them and have absolute contempt for them. They have no respect for other road users and show two wheel transport in a bad light.

Personally if it wasnt for the lack of fairing on my bike i would have a baseball bat on my bike to knock the scumbags off.

This is based on personal expierence .
1. seeing scooter riders overtaking dangerously
2. tailgaiting or along side cars
3. using the pavement as an extention of the road
4. riding with feet dragging road, or dangling in the air
5. overtaking illegally and dangerously
6. carving up the traffic and causing other road users to make avasive manuvuers to avoid an accident.
because they are idoits, you can always set up some wire across the road to trip them up.but dnt kill them.they will if they keep goin on on there bikes
because they have very small penises and very small engines.they rev both whenever they get the chance.
Testosterone
Cos they are stupid teenagers and see racers do it on telly to prevent the plugs fouling up on their racebikes.
Monkey see, monkey do.

P.S. There is absolutely no need to do this on a streetbike, I know cos I'm a M/C Technician.
you answered your own question there. they're nob heads.
Permission to drive and the ability to drive aren't the same thing.
when they buy these rev 'n' rips they leave what little brain they had in the shop.
same goes for the extra protective shorts and t shirts they ride in.
Are you talking about 50mph 30mph max scooters? Maybe they're trying to impress, and look like James Dean. But its hard to look like a gruff macho biker, sitting astride a chicken chaser! My hair dryer has more power! ha
