Is5 there a pulsation in the brake pedal? could be the ABS system acting up a little bit.. I wouldn't worry about it though, you still got 3 other wheels trying to stop the car.

Sounds like the CV joint. Get it fixed or it will break on you.
ball joint or tie rod.
p.s. bmws are rwd, therefore it is not a cv joint.

You didn't specify which year it was, but since they stopped building 318s in the late 90's/early 00's, I imagine it's probably about the same age as mine.
My recommendation (having spent FAR too much time in the BMW service department over the last decade) is to have the brakes replaced. BMW's are much harder on brakes than any other car make of which I'm aware, which is why I switched to Brembo carbon-ceramics back in '00. They cost about $900 for all 4 wheels, but they're effectively guaranteed for life. Compare that with about $600 in parts/labor for new stock brakes every 3 years, and you save yourself a buttload of money over the life of the car.
If that doesn't solve the problem, then there's something far more sinister going on, like a fault in the front suspension. If it only happens when you brake, then at least it likely isn't an element involved in handling, but it probably is load-bearing. Since you also say it only happens when you brake slowly, then that indicates to me that it probably IS the brakes and not the suspension, but better safe than sorry, as they say.
check the tie rods ends they might be worn to bad and need to be replace
have the ball joint checked, I suggest you have it looked at a.s.a.p, because it could be a number of things
