Audi A4. What is the best model to buy and why?
Answers:
The B5 A4 with the 1.8t Quattro if you're looking to mod. Also, make sure its 1999.5 and up. The B5 models made from 96-99 were known to have timing belt issues. Doesn't sound too bad until it goes and your car dies and you think it was some random freak accident so you try to restart it and pretty much implode the engine and have to pay 4k to fix the engine.
the 2001 is actually probably the best year. They are cheaper to buy than a 2002 by quite a bit because 2002 was the beginning of the B6 models. Same engine and it had a few extra hp from the previous years. Also, if you're looking into buying it for the sake of having a nice fast car you might wanna check out www.atpturbo.com. They sell a GT28RS kit for the 1.8t that could easily produce 350+ hp.
Save your money and get the S4..
