I need advice regarding car reposession in the UK?

I assume that the car is on your driveway. Well legally they can take your car if they are a certified bailiff and they have a court order to do so. But what they are not allowed to do is break and enter. So if you have gates on your driveway, padlock them. One other option is not owning the car. I assume your name and address are on the registration document. But if you read the registration document you will notice it says that while you are the registered keeper of the vehicle you may not necessarily be the legal owner. Your wife, mother, brother etc might actually own it (with a receipt of course) and if it's not yours they can't take it.
If you think creatively you can keep them at bay long enough to sort out your finances, but bear in mind they will keep coming back if they have a reason to. Good Luck
You are behind on your payments. You did not live up to your word when you said you would pay. You are now trying to prevent the finance company from taking your car, by locking it inside a gate.
Either pay what you owe, or they are going to get the car. The more problem it is to get back, the more the repo company will charge, and ultimately the more you will have to pay!!
Quit crying about them coming to get the vehicle and take responsibility for your own actions and failure to live up to your obligations!
Once a certified bailiff has been on your property with a view to reposessing items, they are free to come back as often as needed, and you cannot stop them. Locking the gates just means they would get a locksmith, and the locksmith's bill would be payable by you. The best thing to do is to talk to the bailiff. Avoiding them will not work.
