we are flying bmi shuttle from manchester to heathrow then jet airways to mumbai then to goa, but can't find out if any weight allowance is given for hand luggage

If you are flying economy then 7kg made up of 1 piece and a laptop and for second flight it is 6kg and one piece only. Remember the size restrictions introduced this summer are still in place.
i think it's 23 Kilos, but i'm not sure.
anything less than 20KG will put u on a safe side!
