Which is better? An automatic or a manual car?
Answers:
A manual car is less expensive to buy than an automatic, and a manual car is more economical with the fuel. You also get more control with a manual car.
An automatic car on the other hand is easier to drive and requires less effort.
I suggest learning to drive on a manual car, because then you will be able to drive a manual or automatic after your test.
Automatic,Manual shifts are quite a bit harder to learn but more fun
If you learn to drive a manual you can drive anything.
A Manual, much better control!
manual cus if u pass using auto youll never be abul to use manual and thers more manual cars than auto
I prefer the manual, since I learned driving that way and never had a problem.
If you are not so confident, an automatic might make things a bit easier.
Manual is better for fuel efficiency. Automatic better for comfort & city driving.
Auto, Saves you time changing gears.
nervous driver? go with automatic. usually tho id say it depends on wetehr you do a lot of stop and go driving (los angeles) or have a lot of hills to deal with (san fran). if not manuals get better mileage. but with a nervous nelly.get an automatic..one less thing to do while thinking/driving/changing make up/ (and in brittany spears case---baby sitting)
I learned on a manual transmission.but if you want to learn to drive and pass quickly then my advice is to use an automatic (you don't need to think about too many things at once.) An automatic takes the guess work out for you and allows you to concentrate on the content of your drivers test and your safety (as well as the other drivers on the road). I would highly suggest learning to drive a manual eventually (you never know when a situation.perhaps an emergency.arises where you are the one who can save the day by driving and it helps to know both kinds proficiently.) Good luck!
Auto is easier to learn and better for a nervous driver.Plus it's more convenient for long trips, and the only way to go if you have any problems like bad knees (like me) or other disabilities.
Manuals get better mileage and give better performance if driven properly.
Automatic. You can learn to drive a manual at a later day. but if you have a nervous passenger, an automatic will give a smoother ride.. as opposed to a constant shift change.
automatic
Almost definately a manual, preferably diesel.
The benefits far outway the automatics.
Don't ever break down in an Automatic they are a ***** to tow.
U said that u're learning so manual is better cause once that u can drive manual , u can drive auto easily but the opposite is not true .
woteva is suited to you
easier to learn auto, but you can get problems later on, car service they dont have an auto to lend you, more restrictions on buying and selling auto's, choice if buying an auto 2nd hand, if you need to borrow someones car it's less likely to be an auto! i would go manual but if you dont think the issues iv'e raised would affect you then go with auto.
I would say Automatics are easier to drive, there's less to remember. But if you pass your test in an automatic, you can only drive an automatic, if you pass your test in a manual, you can drive either.
i would definitely go the manual car route !! i work in car hire and drive lots of different cars on a daily basis and much pref manual gearbox. you often find automatics are quite jerky and lots rev up a lot before changing gear and they tend to have a lack of power especially at roundabouts . good autos are few and far between and you are looking at the more luxury cars before you get anything half way decent . Also if you hire an auto in the UK they are ALWAYS more expensive than a manual !!!
most brits like MANUAL
manual, automatic are for lazy buggers
Personally, I would say a manual. Learning to drive requires time and patience. I think long-term you'll be much better off learning in a manual.
At first you will probably panic about what gear to use and when etc (I'm sure everyone's been there at some point whilst learning to drive!) but once you're on the road on your own, it'll come so naturally you won't even need to think about it.
To me it's like learning to ride a bike.once you learn, you never forget!
