Bmw 5 series petrol, will i GREATLY improve performance?
Answers:
Hi there,
Bit more info would help.
1 Which 5 series is it?
2 Age?
3 Engine size?
This may help
1 If it is a 4.0L or a 4.4L V8, then no. There are other things you can do to tweak out more hp & torque
2 If it is a 3.5L, a 3.0L or a 2.8L, maybe, try it for a few full tanks to see
3 2.5L or below, don't waste the time or money. Collect the fuel savings to buy one with a bigger engine to pull what is basically a good, safe, big but VERY heavy car.
Hope this helps
"Will I greatly improve performance?" That's what you asked, and I think you will improve performance.
Read the manual. Most cars do not need the higher octane fuel. If your car does not require it, you are wasting money for no improvement at all.
yes it makes your car crisper+sharper eg. people + pro plus.
Whatever is specified for the car, which I am not sure of for the 5 series, will not increase performance, but will prevent engine knock. higher octane gases have additives to reduce engine knock. some cars that require high octane gas will run on regular gas because the car computer is smart enough to compensate for the lower octane via the knock sensor and will adjust time accordingly.
If your car is supposed to run on regular, great, if you put in high grade, you're throwing your money away. the minute performance increase wouldn't be worth the price.
the higher octane will help the gas burn more completely in the combustion chamber, which is good if you live in California and have to go for a smog check.
you can get more power and more mpg it does work
No not greatly, infact you might not really notice much of a difference, but it is good for the engine, and any race car driver could probably tell you that he could feel a difference. The average person most likely could not.
You GREATLY imporve you BMW5 Series petrol if you use fuel reformulator: www.tinyurl.com/rezv4 I suggest you to use it.
No, you will not GREATLY improve performance. However, you will achieve better petrol mileage and emit less carbon emissions. And you WILL see performance improvement, just not IMMENSE performance improvement.
No it will not its a con on the part of the petrol manufactures.Dont forget that by European standards a 5 series BMW is a very ordinary car.Its only high performance vechicles that may benifit slightly as proved by consumer tests in the UK.
