Can someone tell me the fuel consumption?
Know what they are supposed to do according to manufacturer want to know what joe public knows for real.

All pretty thirsty (unless the VW is diesel?). The Audi especially so, they are famous for it.
Sorry no exact figures but I am quite in to fuel consumption figures myself.
PS The Passat is quite a good car if it is diesel although I'd recommend a Golf or Bora TDi myself (the Bora lost out on styling but is still a great car). Or, failing that, the newest VW Jetta.

Depends how u drive it.
I does all depend on how you drive the car. If your a lead foot your not going to get good gas mileage.
passat 1.9 td. around 50 mpg, if you drie correctly
My 98 Passat 1.8 averages about 22 city/28 highway. Any money I save in gas goes towards frequent breakdowns.
