The abs warning light is on in my 1993 e320 mercedes coupe what is the possible cause?

Answers:
low brake fluid.
unless it is short of fluid the valve unit is probably dead.(Go to the Merc dealer, open your wallet and repeat after him help yourself) This is a fail safe device, i.e. you still have normal braking. Its a common fault with a lot of ABS systems, when buying a car with it fitted you should check it out as I have seen cars with the ABS warning light wired to the oil light switch then it goes out when the engine is started. Unless you do an emergency stop you would never know. Hope for your sake it's lack of fluid
And if the fluid level is THAT low, your brakes are just about completely worn out, front and rear.

It may also be one of the wheel sensors or their wiring. My 96 C-220 showed that symptom and I took it to the dealer for a quote. The gal brought it back 10 minutes later, all fixed. Loose wire. No charge! Got the same service when my wiper needed lubrication. M-B customer service is the BEST!
take it to the dealer. they will put it on a computer to tell u. may be just a fuse.
You probably have either a short circut in your abs sensor wires ,or a high resistance .needs to be checked by a competent auto electrician.
