Looking for a ford focus under £5k cash - is an auction a good idea?
Answers:
i work for a ford main dealer, and we regularly get focus' in to retail at about £5k. at least with dealers you'll get a warranty and the right to complain.hope this helps.send me a message if you'd like to know what we've got in stock(i'm in newbury)
Auctions are a great place to find what you are looking for. Call a local car edealer or phone book will do. Also check the paper they may have something as well.
go to
www.ebay.com
Don't forget, at an auction you can't go back and complain, you are buying just what you see, it might fall apart 2 days later, and you've still lost your money. Also remember that an MOT is only as indicates that the car passed on that day, doesn't say that 2 days later it might well have faIled badly. E bay sellers might give you some come back, but not necessarily. I suggest going to a car dealer and getting one with some sort of warranty.
i'm really not sure what to say to you. here in the united states to my experience its a hit or miss with auctions that are open to the public. check the car has best has you can if you can. here, a auction is buy at your own risk. the focus that you are looking at could of been in a major accident and could of been rebuilt by a body shop. for me has much has it kinda stinks for sound mind, with a few more bucks you might just want to think out what you might do. i wouldn't recommend going to a auction. a auction has no accountability for sale. once is sold its sold that's it. where a dealer is accountable and has a reputation to up hold. ask around go to a dealer that has a good reputation
I think that if you do chose to go on an auction, ebay would be the best option. You may find just what you want!!
i see someone said to you try ebay no way not for a car
I recently bought a 02 tdci focus with 90k for £3500. I'd suggest British car auctions. They have loads of auction centres around the country. It all seems a bit dubious at first so don't buy the first time you go - just take a look. You do get time to look at the cars but most of them are locked until they are driven into the showroom. Most cars are sold as seen but some are sold as mechanically sound. If you buy a car that's only 2 or 3 years old then it will still be within the manufacturer's warraty period.
