why not?? used in the right conditions with the right supervision there should not be a problem.
also they will learn about controlling a vehicle and hopefully will have some discipline when they are able to go on the road. also it may make them road safety awareness.though of course they will not be on the road.

a parent who loves their kids and wants them to be the next rossi
riding a mini moto with protective leathers and helmut on a track is probably less dangerous than a bicycle on the road its all should children not ride horses go swimming skateboarding etc as thee are all dangerous but its the responability of the parents to make these hobbies safe
the mini moto would have to be transported to and from the venue (,maybe a local business could consider this)
th venue would have to be a legal, supervised and safe place to ride these machines,with the appropriate insurance/saftey helmet and protective clothing..

at the moment the kids are risking thier lives and putting others in danger riding them in local parks etc.
saying this, i hope this is just another passing trend and it soon passes.

Right on DR Biker. I'm just glad that me, my wife, and kids aren't as wimpy. My 21 year old has been RACING Motorcycles since he was four. Guess what. He is still alive and still racing. Also, since he has been driving a car - almost 6 years now - he has never had a ticket or an accident. This is a great family oriented sport. Go to a track and see a race. Sons and daughters interacting with moms and dads, building life long relationships and learning what real fun is all about. Sure, my kids have been hurt on the bikes, but they have been hurt at Macdonalds too.
No loving parent would get one of those things for their kid. I may be a hypocrite, but I don't even want my kids riding motorcycles when they're big enough! My Daughter is 29 and hates them; I thank God. But my Son is 10 and starting to like them; wants to emulate Dad of course. And I have them in my blood; I've been riding for 35 years and can't stop but with the caliber of drivers' intelligence and skill on the road these days; all the immigrants, teenagers and old people coupled with the relatively non-existent efforts at ensuring driver competency, I'm scared s'hitless to have my kids anywhere near a motorcycle.

Well I have no problem with them but then I'm lucky enough to own land that my nephew can use. I taught him on an electric one first, then restricted petrol, now he's about ready for de restriction. If you just put a kid on a minimoto then accidents will happen, train them at their pace not yours. He wears leathers and a proper helmet the same as i would on the road, then again he is quite a level headed kid and not prone to bouts of twattishness.
ME! I BOUGHT A DR 50,CC FOR MY TWO KIDS ONE 5 AND ONE 8,,THE ELDEST CAN RIDE IT BRILL,, BUT I WOULDNT LET THE YOUNGEST RIDE IT HIMSELF ,, I GET ON THE BACK OF HIM,, HAS LONG AS THEY WEAR A HELMET AND PROTECTIVE GEAR AND YOUR SUPERVISING THEM I CANT SEE THE PROBLEM..
