Iwhat is the best car to learjn to drive in- an automatic or a manual car?
Answers:
Automatic is the easiest for you to learn to drive. So, that takes your attention and puts it on the road, where the real driving action is. This is important during your learning the rules of the road, defensive driving, and maneuvering a car. So, automatic is the best to learn to drive.
To understand how a car works, the manual transmission gives you more technical understanding. Manual is fun after you learn it, but can get boring after a few years of driving.

I would say automatic, I learned on a manuel.
For a new driver, an automatic..one less thing to worry about while driving.!!
if you learn in an automatic you can only drive automatics, if you learn in a manual you can legally drive both
I strongly recommend a manual-transmission car.
It's a bit more difficult, but once you learn driving a manual-transmission car, you can easily drive an automatic later on with little or no practice.
I recomend an automatic.
Manual
Definately a manual. Here in Australia we have separate licences, when you do your test it is with either a manual or auto, so you licence states that. If you are caught driving the wrong one you're in trouble. At least if you learn on a manual, it is easy to drive an automatic if needed. Worth the extra effort and not as hard as you think.
a manual cause then it gives you the option of both.if you can`t get along with it after you pass you can still drive a auto.i`m sure your do fine either way good luck to ya.

If you can drive a manual you can drive either or and I think is a great way to start out. That way you are not limited on what you can and cant drive. Also when you are younger money is an issue and manuals get better gas mileage and you can get a better car in manual cheaper than you can an automatic. Also, a lot of jobs and other places sometimes have cars that you need to drive and what if they happen to be a manual? This way you have learned on both and are prepared for anything.
I learned on an automatic, got good at controlling the car and got comfortable with traffic, THEN I learned on a manual.
It's far better to leanr to drive on a manual, if you pass you test on an automatic, that's all you can legally drive. Obvioulsly there are some folk that find it easier to drive an automatic, so that's beneficial to them, at least they can get driving!
If you learn in an automatic you can only drive automatics, if you learn in a manual you can legally drive both.
I suppose the choice is yours. You have to make a decision if you want to be stuck driving automatic for ever. besides, automatic is for old people
Get the book from the DMV on traffic safety and read it. Then see if you can find anything on etiquette, such as when to yield the right of way, why you're not supposed to drive in the left lane on the interstate. There's a lot more going on than just pushing a pedal and moving a wheel. Learn on an automatic. The last thing you need when starting out is something else that will distract you.
i would say AT because you have so many things that you need to learn first. then you can step up to manual it's better makes you feel that you have control when shifting
If you do a manual then when you pass you can drive both, but if you learn in an automatic then you can only drive an automatic. I'd say it's best to learn in a manual.
Has to be a manual if you want greater flexibility as you develop as a driver. Also helps you to understand gear ratios better. Always worth the extra effort.
If possible.learn in a manual. Once you learn the shifting, clutching, and etc. that you have to do with driving a manual car, driving an automatic will be easier!
