Does anyone know where there is a cdi unit for a suzuki rg 500?

i need to buy or borrow a used working order cdi unit to prove mine is faulty or not. alternatly can anyone tell me how i can test my unit?

Answers:
You could look on ebay for one
the only thing you can do is go to your nearest suzuki dealer he should have the gear to test it.don't thing any-one will let you borrow there's your bike could damage there's..
to buy a new one will cost the earth so get it tested
what is your problem it could be something different ??
Check on ebay in m/cycle spares or check various bike breakers for a secondhand unit from a written off bike. Kevin Keld Motorcycles of Pocklington in Yorkshire is a good starting point as he has a large seconhand spares dept.
What makes you think its the cdi, normally a fairly reliable part?

Good luck.
My RG 5 ran like a dog, and it wasn't the CDI, in the end. The two rear plugs had fouled. Go to the RG 500 owner's page, on the net, and i'm sure that somone ther'll help you out. I'm sorry that I can't be of more use, but I just don't know. I'm not sure if this link will be of use, but www.vjmw.org I hope that you find it. Good luck ( and lucky , you still have yours!)
try parts finder in mcn they could help you with that problem
