Is there a car hire company in UK who will accept cash deposit etc rather than a credit card.?

Answers:
A number of the major car rental companies will allow a rental with a cash deposit but this is usually subject to you passing a credit check. For this you would need a UK address.

Your other option would be for someone else to make the rental for you and then pay extra to feature you as a named driver.

If this isn't an option try contacting local companies they will probably be willing to be more flexibke
Try yellow pages online version and look for the small operators, talk to the owner.
