How do I get sticky L plates off plastic?

Hairdryer or heat gun will melt the glue, and allow easy peel off.
WD-40 WORKS GREAT AND WILL NOT EFFECT PAINT/PLASTIC
white spirit will do the trick!
Try rubbing alcohol, if that doesn't work try Windex, spray it on a towel and let it soak the residue, then wipe off. The key is giving it enough time.

You won't believe it, but I promise it works! Plain old rubbing alcohol. You can find it anywhere and it doesn't leave marks and it completely takes the sticky off. Works like a charm!

Hmm. You could try "Goo Gone" -- a product found at home hardware stores. I've used it for a long time to remove sticky residues (especially from peeled-off labels) from stuff with great success. You can see a picture of the bottle at this link:

Failing that, I would try a little rubbing alcohol, and if that doesn't work, rub a little vegetable oil into the sticky residue, then wash with soap and water.

You could try lighter fluid but be very careful. Or nail varnish remover.
Don't use a heat gun you could easily melt the plastic.WD40 is the best.Spray some on to the glue and let it soak in for about 10 mins.Then rub it off with a cloth.You'll have to rub quite hard a keep spraying a little WD40 on everyso often to soften the glue.
