Oil usually will be present out the exhaust pipe if you have a broken oil ring, if compression rings are broken you may have blow by, exhaust going into and escaping from the crank case vent or oil filler cap and a loss of horsepower.
If you mean fork rings on a motocycle, your see the fluid leaking out.
A compression test.

while the motor is running put your hand over the exhaust pipe,about 3 inches away from the pipe,if you have raw oil coming out the exhaust then its 80%chance it has a busted ring!And you can take the spark plug out and do a compression check also if you rather try that method i hope i helped
DO A COMPRESSION TEST, THEN POUR A LITTLE OIL DOWN THE PLUG HOLE AND DO ANOTHER TEST. IF THE COMPRESSION RISES CONSIDERABLY YOU HAVE A BROKEN RING
