Unleaded or leaded petrol, which is worse on the environment ?

I have heard that unleaded petrol is worse on the environment as it produces a cocktail of gases which blow away in the wind. With leaded petrol it drops close to the road. Whats your view on this ?

Answers:
unleaded is safer but gets used up faster. leaded is less safer than unleaded but longs a very long time
leaded petrol is worse
worse is leaded, that's why we use unleaded.
