Wanting to buy a camper that weights 4500 lbs will a Ford F150 king cab pull it? 2001 model. Thank you?

An F-150 is rated at between 6000 and 6600 lbs depending on a few things like axel ratio and trailer type. Go to Ford.com and click on Ford then trucks, select F-150 and then look for the box that says links and then click on towing and find your type of truck. Granted this information is for a brand new truck but the tow ratings haven't changed much over the years. A towing package is recommended or at least a transmition cooler. I have towed a 4500 lb trailer with a 4.0 L 6 cylinder engine but it was over worked. A trailer that big probably has electric brakes so you will need to install a brake controller if you don't have one in the truck already.

The truck if it is the V8 will most likely tow just about 4500 pounds. So you might be pushin your limit. I would give it a shot and see how it works!
yup.i pulled a 4200 pound trailer with a v6 dodge dakota .if you have an automatic invest in a transmission cooler ..about 60 bucks a U- Haul..keeps engine from overheating.
If it is the 5.4 or 4.6 V-8 you should not have a problem. Make sure you have a tow package too. That should have been factory included(trans cooler, oil cooler) If you have the 4.0 V-6 don't even think about it. You could add about 700 more pounds for water and gear but be carefull. I sell rv's so I do this all day!
Your owners manual will tell you all you need to know. That is the best source to tell you the towing capacity. Go by what it says and don't exceed that. You will need to know what engine you have. Witch axle you have and the gear ratio in the axle. You will also need to know what transmission you have. If you are not sure you can go to the Ford dealer and they will be more than happy to help you figure it out.
