Car hit !?
Answers:
Take it to the insurers. Make sure you can get some sort of evidence of her liability though.
Go through insurance, you may find she doesn't have any which is why she wants to pay herself.
She fcuked up! get her to pay to get it fixed no matter what cost. If she cant afford it She shouldnt drive.. I may sound bitter but an idiot reversed into my beautiful car last night out side the pub and scratched the bumber so the landlord said you better go and check your car.. and he was STILL out there so i went over to him to get him to stop and he waved me off as though there was nothing wrong. Then drove off..
So i kicked his car as he did. I couldnt beleve it. That car is my pride and joy and i will have to pay my self.. aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh
Thats a hard one. I can tell you if you put it through your insurance it could take years. But you would get the repairs done.
My car got kicked by a horse the rider said sort it with the insurance then she denied all knowledge of it. Witnesses help but may have to go to court. Then you premiums will go up. you have to weigh the costs.
It awful I know I have been there.
Go through the insurance.
If her 'mate' bodges it, you wont hve a leg to stand on, safer to use the insurer.
Go through the insurance route.if she refuses to play ball then tell her you are going to get the police involved.maybe she has reasons that she doesn't want that to happen!
Tell her you are going through the insurance ! After all that is why we pay insurance !
There is a good chance this lady may not even be insured ! what other reason would she want it to be fixed at a back street garage for ?
Let us know how you get on . Good luck
you have reasonably allowed this person to rectify your problem now put in the hands of your insurance co. inform this person what you intend to do and tell them its because you require your car repairing properly and not bodging it was not damaged before she reversed into you so it needs to be put back to its original condition without all the fuss
1. Your insurance rate will NOT go up for an accident that isn't your fault.
2. Since she backed into you, it is clearly her fault.
3. Present your demand for the amount which will cover your damages, and don't negotiate.
4. If she refused to pay, take it to your insurance, or take her to court.
Take to your insurance people, see what they say, Got o a couple of places and get quotes for the damage that was caused by her. If it's just surface scratches they can be buffed out. Is it worth the hassle of claims curt or can this guy she knows fix it right?
That's why we pay for insurance - call them, explain what has happened and let them deal with it. She just doesn't want to lose her no claims discount.
If she reversed out into you, chances are she's 100% liable.
Whatever you do, DON'T just let her mate do it, as there'd be no warranty etc, and you don't know what underlying damage might have been done.
Leave it to the professionals - that what we pay them for.
She probably hasn't got any insurance, by the sound of it! You DID get her details and number plate, right?
A couple of years ago a young driver crashed into me on the motorway, ( i was drivin my fathers car too) on the sence of the crash he told me someting similiar to wot ur lady told u, when i told him the quote he would pay, the law states that she has to pay, either thru insurance or her pocket, so i wouldn't use her mate, you better off gettin a few other quotes from other garges then showing themn to her.
I think she is having a laugh tell her you have discussed it with the police and they think she would be better off paying the full cost why should you have a bodge job,it may be worth just calling into your local police station to see what they say
good luck
YOU REALLY NEED STRONG PROOF AND YOU NEED TO FIND HERE IF YOU TURN IT IN ON YOUR INSR. YOURS WILL GO UP TRY TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGES YOURSELF IF YOU CAN'T REACH HER.
Let the insurers appraise the damage. If there are no creases in the metal, then a polish will do. If the paint is cut into or the metal or plastic bits dented, obviously it will not.
Do not let this woman get away with it. She may be honest and not know what it actually costs, or she is a smart cookie and wants to give you the whoops up your pants. I sincerly hope you got something in writing, that would really help.
The way I look at it, things like this is why we pay for insurance in the first place. In the second, why settle for anything other than the correct repairs. Let the insurance fight it out!
My mum drove a rather large old car. In a car park, she backed into another, flipped out and drove home. Then she asked what to do.
I told her it would have been right to leave a note, but since she didn't, the best thing was to hope no one had seen it. We never heard anything, and could not find the car she hit in the park, so she got away with it. She always felt badly about the thing, but what can one do? Her large bumper showed no damage at all.
