Why do'es my ford diesel mondae lose power whenever I use my airconditioning?

The compressor of the air condition saps power from the engine for its working. Hence the response from the car is sluggish.
That's because your a/c compressor gets it's power from your motor. It doesn't matter if it's a diesel or a petrol engine, if you turn on your a/c unit, you will lose a bit of power.
When you turn on the AC, the clutch for the compressor kicks in and the power that would normally be helping the truck to move is now being used to turn the AC
