When you buy a bike you have to look at what you want it to do. If speed is your game, then you have to look at any of the cafe racers. If its just getting to and from work, then do you want something that looks cool or one that sounds cool? I run a old cafe racer because i have all ways be lived its better to be fast then to sound fast. I like to speed and no harley can keep up with the jap bikes. So I would go with the vn 1600 if speed is what you are looking for. :)
