SPEEDO READS "O" OVER 30MPH. Gets worse when It gets hot? It's a 10yr Rover with a cable drive. Any Idea??
I'm not sure if i will need to clean the cable or replace it. Or is it the speedo inside the dash?
Speed Cameras are a little tricky!

bet its the cable not much easy to replace if not that does it click behind the speedo when its working if it does remove clocks and make sure the white clip on the end of cable is not broken and has a secure fixing kind regards hope this helps good luck
it is probley the cable where it connects to the box its a plastic clip and does go a lot
Can be the gear inside the transmission, when is cold work properly and when the tranny is hot doesn't.
Its more than likley its the speedo drive pinion in the gear box its made of plastic and they have a habit of failing .when its cold the drive grips when the gear oil heats up it alows the pinion to slip .you can replace it without removing the gear box . Rover mechanic for many years.
Worn cable
