I am travelling Midland Mainline St Pancras to Derby 1st Class - however what do you get for 1st Class?
Answers:
A cloth behind your head, less crowded carriage, a shorter walk to your carriage, and the same slow journey and delays as the people who paid half as much.
Legroom, quiet, free paper, free tea/coffee etc.!
you get peace and quiet, maybe a newspaper, free coffee and ripped off!
You get a free meal too!
From their website "First Class ticket holders, travelling Monday to Friday, receive
complimentary small snacks, fruit juice, mineral water and
a glass of wine on afternoon services. This is in addition to
complimentary tea and coffee and a daily newspaper, all of
which will be served to you at your seat."
Im not sure about Sat
Tea or coffee, and a cleaner seat
Not a lot more at all!
Not much, most 1st class passengers are on business and they will claim the money back in tax expenses
A bigger ticket price.
If it's anything like I experienced last week- sod all. Group of young lads who were swearing and shouting, and they hadn't paid to upgrade;the train was so crowded that you couldn't get to the buffet car;the train was absolutely freezing. And if you travel after 8pm,there is no buffet service at all!
some services don't offer complimentary on the weekend, (Virgin for Example)
You are garenteed a seat, free food, if you travel in the morning its a breakfast and then later on its sandwiches & cakes + you also free news paper.
