Honda CG 125?

Several years ago a friend of mine rode a CG125 from South Wales, UK to Turkey, about 10,000 miles total. Did a consistent 65mph, got robbed twice, did one oil change.
Cant get better reliablity and simple to work on as its a pushrod motor. Modified DT125 is lots of fun but you wouldnt want to ride it too far. XR/XL125 is a bit underpowered, but I;ve seen 90mph on modified ones (carb, exhaust, cam, downhill) A lot depends on what you intend to do. CG, Ok all round as its low and light, XL/XR or DT more fun and taller for round town so you have better visibility
Try the Yamaha Nuovo.It's a smart,automatic.All controls on the right hand.Feet do nothing.Easy to drive.
you would get more fun from the yam ,bit more power , the xr125 might be better if you intend to do mostly town riding
Cannot comment on the others, but learnt to ride on a CG. Great bike, pulls away quick enough for it's size. Being a learner bike, it took a few knocks, but nothing fazed it. Never had any trouble with it, always started, easy maintainance, easy to get parts if you drop it.ahem.
Had a lot of fun on the CG and even though I have moved on to bigger bikes, I still take the her out for a blast now and then.

the insurance on the dt would be sky high, i am 30 and they offered me insurance at 500+, i have had 2 cg125's and found them one of the best bikes to start on, insurance is low, reliable, and good petrol consumsion, sorry for the spelling! if you have a car licence and are looking for fun tfry getting a road legal quad, very very good fun, on and off road.
I learnt and passed my test on CG125 several years ago and found it a lovely little bike. I think it will fit the bill perfect.
