Ask a body repairers garage or in particular VW
Go to a auto paint store and ask if they have a camera specifically designed for taking pictures of paint. Most paint manufactures have a system or brand that they use.All you have to do is bring the van or a part that has the color you want on it put some polish on it and try to make the paint as shiny as possible so you can see your face in the paint. They will take a computrized picture of it, put it in there computer and the computer will give the closest match they have in their paint inventory. Most paint co. don't keep paint codes or the paint longer than ten years unless it's a popular color and even then they might change the color, it's very hard to get a paint code from the 70's
the definitive source for VW paint and codes is Wolfsburg West. Look them up online. They have everything. Or you can try West Coast Metrics.
I drive a vintage VW made in 1973. I have no answer to your question, but as a vintage VW fan I must say these words for your camper: You lucky peel! :))
drive on!
phone vw and give them your vin number and/or reg.
they can give you your paint code exact for that vehicle
