keep it well serviced change the timing belt unless you know for a fact it has been done recently, keep and eye on the tin worm [ rust] around head lights and wheel arches, parts for these things are for nothing compared to some, and you will get most of everything from a good breakers yard, the 1.6 is a good engine, just change that oil and filter every 5-6 k and the timing belt every 25k plugs air filter etc every second oil change, engine should be good for another 100k at least, and the gearboxes are bomb proof.
not a nascar mechanic but 36 years of fixing fords give me a bit of a clue.
Good luck!
it is a mazda motor. The motor is the only thing that you should not look to have problems with. Not being a jerk, you asked.
no i do not think you will have trouble
Some of the ones I have seen my family own had problems with the foam on the front dash. My sister even took hers back she bought it new back then, she has had two of them. After takeing it back to the dealers they would not fix it even though it was under warrenty, they insisted that it was caused by something else. Also she has heard of others having simmilair dash problems.
Great car just keep the oil and filters changed and belts hoses and regular maintenance up you will be fine good dependable vehicle, some of the other answer Ive read are UN- Educated guessers not all some
hun you wont have any trouble its a ford the best car makes !!!!!
After a few years, the engine will die out. No matter how much u press the throttle, the car will rev, but it wont move at all. That's wat happened to my Cosworth RS.
With 55000 miles already driven you are into load of troubles. Two things will happen. It consumes hell of a lot of fuel and just about to start getting into the maintenance mood. May be the motor is good but the suspension, differential, etc. can give you lot of problems and it is expensive to maintain.
