Problems with abs on mazda 626?

I have a 1998 R plate mazda 626. The abs light suddenly came on & the problem is traced to a faulty abs modulator. The car has 130k on the clock. It runs perfectly & i'd like to keep it but the cost of the part is £1000! although I am looking on the net for the part from a breakers yard

Has anyone had this problem?

Is the car sellable or if not how do I dispose of it?

Any experiences or advice would be appreciated
Is the car sellable in this conditon

Answers:
The car should be fine. Just the abs system will not work so your vehicle will basically act like a vehicle without abs braking.
The ideal situation would be to replace the module however with the year of the vehicle most likely this would not be the brightest option. The ABS system does have a main fuse which powers it.You should be able to pull the fuse the ABS light will remain on.The brakes should act like conventional hydraulic brakes with no ABS assist. You really should notice very little to no difference in braking.Good luck.
any car is sellable, depends on the money you want for it.but the 626 is a very awesome car I think, you should get it repaired
You're brakes probably get stuck. If it is that old more problems are probably going to arise. I say sell it.
its old anyway, get rid of it.if u wanna save it, replace the whole system.its for your safety.
