Hey Nige..I think he means DATATOOL! LOL trace back all the alarm wiring to the main bike loom. If a proper fitter has fit it then the alarm will be soldered into the bike loom. heat the solder and remove the alarm wiring one by one. resoldering the original bike loom as you go (sometimes the alarm wiring is piggybacked to the bike loom, just cut out and reclamp)

expect to spend a good afternoon doing it and make sure you replace all insulation tape with new as you go too to keep the weather out

Dont bother re selling the alarm.

Ive just removed one from my cbr..the alarm would not unarm as the battery was totally dead, and yes i did try and reprogram the fob!..JUST UNSOLDER AND WOOHOOOOOO, while you are there you can chop out the wiring for the lights/indecators etc as you wont be needing it.

you can also remove the starter motor if ya that keen!
Datatag CANNOT be removed once installed. However, provided you are the legal owner, you simply need to call Datatag (01932 358100) and inform them that the bike has been scrapped for parts. Once you've proven you are the legitimate owner, they can deactivate the transponder Id.s on their computer.
depends on whether or not you want to keep or sell the alarm afterwards.

Not got much experience with this particular alarm. Normally alarms have a live feed, normally direct from the alternator. An earth, normally found somewhere around the frame. If it has an immobiliser, this will either cut the feed to the starter motor or to the ignition pack. Also the indicators will have to be disconnected.

What you are best of doing is to take as much of the damaged plastics off as you can, if you haven't done so already. Locate the siren unit and trace all of the wires off of it. Make sure that when you cut and isolate the wiring, leave enough there to reuse.

If you are going to donate the bike for use as a track do bike, more than likely you'll be stripping the whole thing. If so, this'll make it easier to identify all of the wiring as well.

If you don't intend to sell the alarm, fill your boots and have some fun - rip it out!

Hope this helps
Did you write the bike off on the track ?
