How much would a respray for a Mazda mx5 cost?

It would depend on who was doing it, and the finish required. I just use those paint pens and laquer that you get in most high street car accessory stores.
I'm not overly impressed at the result, but it does at least arrest and prevent any rust occurring. From a distance you do not notice any imperfections. Close up there are some, but so what! If you drive a car, it will get stone chips on the paint and rust on the wheels. If it sits in a showroom, or a garage then it will look good but what is the point of that?
Doing it yourself, it'll probably cost about $1000-$2000 depending on the type of paint you want to use and how many coats of clear you want to finish with.
Taking it to a shop will probably run you anywhere between $3000-$5000, the high end being a nice custom job.
If ur in the UK it would be around 1500-2000 an thats done using the oven which is the best way, but if its a soft u may think about replacing that too,
i own a repair and restoration shop,and there not to bad to repaint,as long as you don't have lot of body work to do,and again it all depends on what kind of paint you want to put back o it also,i usually get around 1000 -1200 for a completes respray for these,and that comes with a one year warranty on the paint ,and labor,but most shops wont warranty a paint job,good luck,i hope this help,s.
lol do what my mate did with his landrover 20 quid of paint and a brush looks ok from a distance on a battered landrover
if not ask to see some of there work before you let them on your car as ssen some places doing resprays for few 100 quid but the look ruff
