i own a repair shop,and i always look at the junk yards for the older ones,they should have a good used one for it that would last a long time,and the price of it will be a lot less than that of a new one ,i have used parts like this before ,and the last real good,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
Try a car breakers they often have gearboxes removed from the car and available over the counter
Wouldnt recomend a main dealer for the age of your car as they will be expensive
Or try an engine and gearbox specialist they can often fit it for you if you dont want to do the work yourself and setting up the auto box can be difficult for the untrained.
